ROWER Brooke Pratley is closer to making her dream a reality after she was named in the official team for the Beijing Olympics.
Brooke is among the women's eight squad named in the 2008 Australian rowing team.
It was in 2006 that Brooke first shot to fame with her rowing talents by beating the three-time world champions Caroline and Georgina Evers-Swindell of New Zealand in the women's double skulls final with Liz Kell at the World Championships at Eton.
The little-known double sculls pairing had only raced twice before as a team, this was their third.
Brooke, in her first international team at the age of 26, said: "We have to give a lot of credit to our coach."
Pratley and Kell's win set the regatta alight and were since dubbed "The Australian Queens of Double Sculling" after achieving what was said to be the impossible.
The win has been described by many as "the most exciting race and gutsy win, ever."
The gold was the first ever for an Australian in this event.
