Celebrating book week

31 Aug, 2010 09:34 AM
Last Wednesday the Kindergarten, year one and year two students shared their love of books and reading with the school community and friends from Crookwell Preschool.

Everyone dressed in costumes as their favourite character from a book.

Preschool students joined in with the older students, taking part in icing the 'book biscuits' to be eaten while listening to Mr Atfield, Brendan Ahynes, Jackson Thearle and Dylan Treacy who traveled down from the High School, read colourful story books.

The book parade in the library provided many 'oohs' and 'aahs' as the children presented themselves explaining what character they were and bopped around to music for the audience to admire many creative mum's and dad's work.

Unfortunately the weather was not kind and the planned picnic lunch had to be held inside. This aside, the day proved to be a great success.

Amber Bonnici and Ella Picker certainly got into the spirit of the day as they donned their book character outfits.
