AFTER ELEVEN years of servicing the local community, The Crookwell Physiotherapy Centre closed its doors for the last time on Friday February 3.
Owner of the clinic, Lorna Vallely, said she has very much enjoyed being a Physiotherapist, but is about to change professions, pursuing a new career in Horticulture. Lorna said: “I am very grateful to the community of Crookwell for supporting my Physiotherapy practice.”
Her work has given her an opportunity to meet many people in the town and outlying areas. While Physiotherapists are invaluable for treating injuries and aches and pains, it can be physically demanding on the therapist.
“Physiotherapists do have a shelf life, and I feel my use-by-date has well and truly arrived!” said Lorna.
Lorna said she has been interested in Horticulture for many years. About five years ago, Lorna decided to eventually change her profession to landscape designing and consequently commenced a degree with Charles Sturt University.
The time has now arrived to put the theory into practice with her Garden Design and consultancy business, ‘Ground Designs’, starting this year, with a number of projects already accepted.
Lorna said that she was very much looking forward to creating landscape designs, although she acknowledged that implementing the designs might provide further work for other Physiotherapists.
