THANKS to the drive and expertise of Austin Cummins and Kaye Martin (Cummins), a very successful reunion of the descendants of Tom and Sadie Cummins was held at Crookwell in the Showground refreshment room on Sunday October 2, 2011.
There were 110 attendees covering four generations, who had a great time renewing friendships and getting to know more distant relatives.
A BBQ supplied by the Lions Club and many cups of tea and coffee were enjoyed, along with some home cooking provided by some of the guests.
The memorabilia display was a talking point, and it included a milk separator (to separate milk from cream), cream churn (to make homemade butter), old boiler (for roasting meat), pendulum clock (circa 1900), right down to the medical journal which was a ‘must’ for young brides in the early 1900's, and many other items.
A DVD photo slide show with background music played continuously during the day. It featured Tom and Sadie, their seven children and extended families.
It was a wonderful day and tribute to Tom and Sadie.
