LAGGAN PUBLIC SCHOOL last week welcomed their new Principal Miss Laura Grace, and second teacher Mr Phillip Leighton-Daly.
Both of these teachers bring to Laggan a wealth of experience and lots of new ideas.
Miss Grace has had much experience in small and rural schools, working as a classroom teacher and teacher-librarian at Condobolin, Broken Hill and Goulburn West.
She has taught all levels from preschool through to Year 6 and has a passion for technology, literacy and creative arts.
Mr Leighton-Daly is a dedicated teacher with over 35 years experience, as well as being an accomplished author.
His interests include sport, drama, basic skills (particularly writing), natural science, performing arts, environment and local history.
Last week was also the start of school life for four new kindergarten students who were welcomed to the school by the teachers and students. Travis, Chloe, Emma and Isla have settled in well in our school community and are well on the way to becoming lifelong learners.
This term sees the students developing their literacy and numeracy skills with a hand's on computer based resource that will allow students to engage with differentiated content to challenge and extend their learning.
Due to high teacher to student ratio provided at Laggan, all students receive the attention needed to set them up for their life of learning. Laggan has wonderful facilities and grounds where students can play and learn.
Laggan School aims to provide the complete package for your children; excellent teachers and facilities and welcomes new students and enquires.
