Lions keep Ron moving

26 Aug, 2010 10:37 AM

CROOKWELL Lions Club have generously donated a mobile scooter to Ron Campbell.

Ron suffers from Multiple Sclerosis and requires the scooter to help move him around on a daily basis.

“The Club was initially approached by Simon Lynch about funding for a mobility scooter for Ron earlier in the year,” said Lions President Ray Cummins.

“We thought it was a terrific idea and went ahead with it.

“The Club would like to thank the community who generously supported the funding, especially through our wood raffles.

“Also, a thank you must go to the Goulburn and Taralga Lions Clubs who also put money towards the scooter,” said Ray.

Ron, who was a member of Crookwell Lions for many years, said he was most appreciative of the gesture form Lions.

“It’s not too bad at all actually!” said Ron.

“I’m very happy with it and thanks to the Lions Club for their assistance.”
