Storm repairs continue

24 Jan, 2012 02:03 PM
UPPER Lachlan Council road staff is still working on repairs to roads damaged in the severe storm of December, 2010.

Cost of the repairs has been met by Government grants.

Currently repair work is being carried out on the Fish River Road.

Director of Works Mr. Phil Newham reported to last Council meeting that next on the list for repairs are roads in the Peelwood area, including Wangalo Road, Cooksvale Road and Montana Road.

Some of these roads are also listed on the current gravel re-sheeting program, which will be carried out while the road gangs are in the area.

Nearly every rural road in the Shire suffered damage in the 2010 downpour.
