CROOKWELL AP&H Society are now calling for 2011 Showgirl entrants.
If you are aged between 18 and 24, and are looking for a great opportunity to develop leadership and communication skills, while representing Crookwell as a young ambassador, then why not look to The Land Sydney Royal Showgirl Competition for 2011.
You could be in the running to win a trip to the Sydney Royal Easter show, plus a share of $18,000 cash.
Crookwell has had some fantastic young women represent our great community at Crookwell, read all about three of these who have had the chance to represent us at Sydney, and learn what they have gained from the competition, you could be our next Sydney Showgirl representative.
The Showgirl Competition aims to find a young woman to act as an ambassador for rural NSW with her role involving many official and informal duties both at the Sydney Royal Easter Show and during her travels within NSW and overseas.
The contestants are judged on personality, confidence, ambition and life goals, general knowledge, rural knowledge, presentation and speech.
Finalists are also asked to demonstrate knowledge of their local community and current affairs and apart from their potential ambassadorial qualities, contestants are also judged on their involvement in and experience of rural affairs.
The local judging day will be held in conjunction with Taralga and Gunning showgirls, in Taralga on Saturday October 9.
