THE Mayor of Upper Lachlan Shire Council, John Shaw, held a reception on Tuesday August 10 to acknowledge the achievements of local athlete Taleah Scott who has been a scholarship holder with the South East Regional Academy of Sport (SERAS) for her third year in 2010.

SERAS executive director, Garry Lane, provided a brief update on the academy and outlined its plan to lodge a joint expression of interest with the University of Canberra to host the 2012-2014 Academy Games.

He then provided an overview of Taleah’s achievements in hockey during 2010 to the Mayor who presented her with a certificate to commemorate her year on scholarship with the academy.

Mayor Shaw responded by acknowledging the good work done by the academy and confirming Council’s ongoing support.
