ANDREW Palmer scored a double in NSW's biggest win of the Championship to date - a 6-0 goal fest over Tasmania.
Entering day 6 in 3rd place (only on goal difference), NSW took control of the match early sending numerous attacking raids towards Tasmanian goalkeeper, Sam Butler.
Andrew Palmer, adding to his goal tally at the Championship, slotted NSW's first goal in the 15th minute courtesy of some great ball control.
He quickly followed it up 11 minutes later when he was on the end of a crafty penalty corner play.
Leading 2-0 after the break, NSW came out bursting with energy to pile on four more goals in quick succession.
First to add to the tally was Matthew Willis who finished off another creative penalty corner variation in the 42nd minute. This was quickly followed by Oliver Walker who weaved some magic to take the score to 4-0. Barely a minute later Casey Younie found the back of the net and on the stroke of full time Matthew Harmon added the icing on the cake for a 6-0 win.
NSW manager, Ray Tolhurst, said the team was gelling well and were pleased with today's result.
"This was the biggest winning margin of any team in the Championship to date. We're pleased with the result and looking forward to playing ACT tomorrow (Wednesday) to secure out spot in the top 3."
"Obviously Andrew Palmer is having an excellent Championship, but the other surprise packet has been Liam Alexander who has been strong for us in the fullback position," concluded Tolhurst.
Wednesday will be the crunch day for NSW as they hope to end the rounds with a victory over ACT at 9am (WST). They will then turn their attention to the proceeding match between QLD and WA to decide the order of the top 3 spots.
