FIVE local young football talents have been chosen for Zone under 12 representative teams. The recent selection happened at the Memorial Oval with all three Crookwell schools involved - Crookwell High, Crookwell Public and St Mary’s.
All play for the Crookwell Green Devils Under 12 rugby league team. Crookwell’s 7-12 coach is Phil Cramp and the team manager is Andrew Keel.
Coach Cramp puts the unusually high number of rep players selected from the Under 12s to the influence of Ronny “Rambo” Gibbs.
A junior development officer for junior country rugby league, Ronny Gibbs, came down from Dubbo for the recent Michael Fahey Memorial Day held in Crookwell and put the young players through their paces.
“He ran the boys for an hour, his influence was unbelievable,” said Coach Cramp.
Footnote PSSA players played yesterday and Catholic Archdiocese player Billy Cramp has his turn on Friday. Watch this space for the boy’s results.
