SAFETY will be the top priority when WorkCover NSW hosts a community safety day at the Memorial Oval, Crookwell on Wednesday, August 28 with government agencies and community organisations.

The day will commence at 9.30am
Eight government agencies and community organisations will be present at the event which will commence at 9:30am to provide local residents and businesses with the opportunity to receive advice and assistance from local experts in all aspects of safety.
The Crookwell CWA will be hosting morning tea at the CWA rooms on the day between 9.30am and 11am free of charge.
WorkCover NSW Regional South Team Manager, Billy McColl is urging locals to take advantage of the opportunity to receive free safety advice.
“Improving safety in regional towns is a WorkCover priority,” Mr McColl said.
“Due to our busy lives, finding the time to think about safety in our homes, business and environment can be a challenge.
“Be Safe in Crookwell brings together local organisations responsible for safety, enabling residents to seek advice, information and assistance on any issue.
“I encourage all Crookwell residents to come down to Memorial Oval next Wednesday August 28 to find out how their local safety experts can help improve their quality of life.”

Upper Lachlan Shire Council
Essential Energy
Fire & Rescue NSW
NSW Rural Fire Service
EPA NSW
Country Women’s Association
“Inspectors can discuss a range of work health and safety issues including recent licensing changes, workers compensation and return to work programs, and provide practical advice on how they affect a workplace,” he said.
“There will also be a range of materials available on how to keep your workplace as safe as possible.
“Any small business that speaks to an inspector may also be eligible for a rebate of up to $500 through our Small Business Rebate Program which can be used to purchase and install safety improvements.”
