In the month of September there were 18,000 fry released into the rivers around Crookwell they are as follows - Todkill Park, Bolong on the Tyrl Tyrl Road, Grabben Gullen Creek, Wheeo Creek and the Reedy.
In the month of October we had the opening of the trout season which was a great success, there were 18 trout weighed in over the weekend, with some lovely big sized trout caught. There were 11 rainbow and seven brown trout.
The results of the trout weekend are as follows
Rainbow trout
Bernard Keough Five 750gms to 1.000kg
Brad Cartwright 1.350kg
Wayne Slater 1.200kg
Mark George 3600 to 990gms
Glen Woods 900gms.
These lovely trout were caught at Myanga, Phil’s River, Bolong, Reedy Creek, Sapling Creek.
Brown trout is as follows
Mark George 3840gms to 1.190kg
Craig George Two 1.075kg to 1.350kg
Gene George Two 525gms to 1.600kg.
These lovely trout were caught in The Crookwell River and sapling creek. The heaviest trout was a brown 1.600kg caught by Gene George, secret weight was Bernard Keough. The total weight of the trout was 17,770kg, well done club members.
Thanks to the Laggan Hotel for supplying the barbecue for the fishing club to have our presentation there. Our next club meeting will be December 9 at the Criterion Hotel for 7.30pm. Keep on fishing, as the big ones are out there, it is still a great sport!
