Junior Pups donating $6000 to The Crookwell Community Trust
THE Crookwell Pups Sportsman’s Lunch, held recently was a resounding success.
Around 160 gentlemen attended with the Guest of Honour, Duncan Armstrong, giving an excellent presentation of his achievements in the world of swimming.
As a result of the profit made from the luncheon The Pups were able to present $500 each to our own Olympians, Brooke Pratley and Emily Smith, to help with their costs while competing in London.
Representatives of the Pups were again on hand to present members of the Crookwell Community Trust with the sizable cheque of $6000.
Of the remaining profit an amount is set aside for the running of the Junior Rugby club for 2013.
All this would not have been achieved without the support of the many sponsors, McGeechan Farm Supplies, Telstra, Duncombe and Co, JD’s Hardware and Rural Supplies, Pfizer, Novartis, Jim’s Mobile Butchery, Crookwell Services Club, Wind Prospect CWP, Lion Nathan and Paul Anderson plus all the sportsmen who attended the lunch.
Tim McCarthy and John Mendl, the Chairman and Treasurer of the Crookwell Community Trust were delighted to receive the donation.
The patrons at the Sportsmen's Luncheon have been most generous supporters of the Trust this year and earlier years.
The Trust wishes to publicly thank the organisers of the Luncheon and the many luncheon patrons for the donation.
The work of the Trust is reliant on the support of the District, and the Trust strives to keep helping the residents and provides emergency crisis funding to the residents of the Crookwell District.
In the last eight months, the Trust has donated approximately $14,000 to people in need in the local area.
