THE organization “Crookwell Library Friends” was formed some years ago to support the activities of the library and to provide extra funds for the library facilities. These funds mainly come from our annual Book Fair – which we expect to have again in March 2014.

The AGM will be held on Tuesday December 3 at 10.00 am. Non-members, which we hope may become new members, are welcome to join us to hear about the activities of our marvellous library. The AGM will be followed by a special morning tea to farewell Dianne Layden who has spent a number of years assisting in the library and generally supporting the activities of The Friends.
From time to time the library hosts what is generally called “Lunch in the Library”. This may be a visiting speaker or, for example, Mandy’s cooking demonstrations.
Recently we have begun a monthly “Scrabble at the Library” held on the first Tuesday of each month. So the next Scrabble session will be on the day of the AGM (3 December) starting at 1.00 pm. Those who are at the AGM may like to stay on for the Scrabble or you are all welcome to come along for a 1pm start and have about two hours of scrabble – followed by tea again! Don’t worry if you have never played Scrabble. It is not hard! Even if you only do the ‘easy’ crosswords you will soon pick up how to play Scrabble. We would welcome some new players. It is just for fun with a couple of little prizes.
Our thanks to Kerri-ann and all the library staff for all that they have done over the past year. It’s a wonderful facility which we are lucky to have in our little town. If you are not already a member do go along and sample the good things on offer.
Yours sincerely
David Rees, on behalf of Crookwell Library Friends.
