There was something in the air on Saturday. It was faint at first, barely detectable. As the day began, few in Crookwell noticed it. But there were some who felt it, and it drew them out of their houses. They'd caught the slightest hint of awesomeness that was slowly building. What was the name of this feeling, this growing electric vibe that made all the cows and sheep in the district face directly towards Lin Cooper fields? Three words: semi final games.
I was there. This is what I saw...

Minor Semi Final
Gold v Green
Gold went to a commanding lead in the first half. They had a super strong defensive line with Ebony Kearney and Lachie Hicks letting nothing get past them. Gold's Tyson Reeves scored a few possibly due to a new haircut and Isabelle Medway also scored, but her hair looked the same as most weeks. With the start of the second half, Green began a comeback with strong attacking from Lucy Opie and some great goals by Jack Page. The scores were getting narrower, but Gold held on to the lead and the final whistle signalled that they were through to the final next week.
Major Semi Final
Grey v Red
Red faced a fast paced relentless onslaught from Grey for the majority of this game's running time. Good thing Red had excellent defenders in Emily Secomb and Amelia Croker and a cracking save from Jarred Croke. Grey scored goals from the boots of Jack Searl, Oscar Rose, Nick Selmes and Will Evans and it was often the work of Mikeely Gray and Grace Abbey who got the ball up to them. There was a terrific single goal from Lachlan Jansen but it wasn't enough to dent the huge Grey total and keep them out of the grand final.

Minor Semi Final
Orange v Green
Green were missing a few players and it made it just that little bit harder in this game. That didn't stop Green players like Emma Page, Courtney Stephenson and Joseph Anderson thwarting most of the Orange attacks. Orange's persistence and teamwork did lead to goal success from Rhys Ellem, Jacob Griffiths and Sean Ward. Green had one answering goal from Cameron Herd but they could reach the modest Orange total that sent them to the final next week.
Major Semi Final
Gold v Maroon
Maroon suspected they were facing a challenge from the early Gold goal from Mason Kearney. They knew it for sure when he scored a few more times. Maroon rallied in the middle of the game and scored off the boots of Angus Smith and Lillian Skelly. Gold kept up their energy and Tiarna Bill joined in adding a goal with Mason. Time eventually ran out and There was no doubt Gold were the winners and through to the grand final.
Blue v Red
The tactic of both teams in this game was to neutralise the other and both teams did an exceptional job. This went on and on an then there was a moment when someone almost scored, but it was saved. Then it happened again almost exactly the same, only more so. This couldn't go forever and eventually Red had a goal scored by Boyd Heidrich and Blue had one each from Oliver Gray and Liberty Cramp to give them the game.

Green v Grey
This was mostly an even game with all players putting in a good effort for the whole game. Green's goals came from Sam McGregor and Lillian Skelly, while Grey's were from Saxon Long and Taj Cooper. Other good performances were from Green's Charlie Colley and Grey's Makayla Cole and Ashley Bachta. Green's greater total lasted to the end to allow them the win.
Maroon v Red
Red put in some great efforts from Sophie Ward and Jay Knight throughout this gruelling match. Maroon managed to gradually get control of the game with goals from Sianabel Anderson, Jesse Faulkner and Levi Woods. Joshua Churchill managed to put one on the board for Red, but Maroon kept in front to win the day.
Orange v Gold
Another great game but one where Gold had the disadvantage of some players missing. Orange had goals from Florence Dark and Sebastian Potts and good support from Lachlan Nagle. Gold had fill in players like Jack Speer and Sophie Ward doing a great job, but they were unable to rival the Gold run to a win.
D GRADE
Red v Orange
A crazy game that saw Red fielding only two players who not only managed to hold off the Orange side, but take their side to victory. Red's Nathaniel Waters and Reed Kearney scored the goals and hold off the enthusiastic assault from Orange's Victa Woods, Erik Skelly and Sienna Gray.
Blue v Gold
As the season nears it's end, the teams are playing better and better. Gold had some goal success from Joe Stephenson and Liam McCormack. Blue had only one player who was adding goals, but Charlie Cramp sure added a lot of them. This put Blue well in front to win the game.
