A GRADE Grand Final
Sponsored by Davies Newsagency
Grey v Gold
If you thought after a year of dominating their grade, this would be a simple win for Grey, then you thought wrong. This very even match started with Gold's backs Zandalee Reeves, Emily Watt and Lachie Hicks shutting down every run from Grey. Grey's superior passing from Oscar Rose, Grace Abbey and Nick Selmes eventually led to their first goal from Jack Searl. Gold fought back and great aiming from Pat McAllister and Jarian Long led to a stellar goal for Ebony Kearney. Jack added a second goal before the end of the first half. In the new half both teams were run ragged and soon there was another Grey goal for Will Evans. Gold came back to add another brilliant goal from Isabelle Medway. Grey's slim lead was lengthened when Jack scored another brilliant one and Gold's efforts were thwarted by the final siren leaving Grey the season's winning side.
B GRADE Grand Final
Gold v Orange
Another match between two teams giving their all. This made goals a rare and precious commodity that was hard to come by in this match. Orange made some valiant plays with superb passing from Abby Woods, Jacob Griffiths and Sean and Emma Ward. Gold's Archie Duncombe, Tiarna Bill and Shadeegan Kearney were unstoppable and this led eventually to the two goals from Mason Kearney. The high quality play meant there were no other goals forthcoming for the rest of the match, but Gold's successes were what they needed to win the game and the season.
