This event is held twice each year to raise funds that will go toward much needed local community projects and wider CWA projects that support families hit by natural disasters including drought, flood, fire or cyclone that may impact anywhere across Australia, education grants for students, medical research or international projects assisting women and children.
The Mega Street Stall is a popular event leading into the long week end that can provide some sumptuous baked goods, luscious fruity jams, pickles, chutney and lovingly hand-made items for the home, children and babies. Other goods including plants and books will be available.
Two raffles will be offered at $1 each for a load of wood that is always welcome, or a very timely $75 voucher from the award winning Meats a Treat that will be drawn on the day.
Crookwell CWA Day Branch President, Margaret Williams, said, “As our baked goods, jams and pickles are well sought after. We suggest you come early to avoid disappointment as last year we had sold all our baked goods by mid morning. We really appreciate the support from our local community and visitors to our wonderful town and our members are very keen to provide the best products possible.”
Crookwell CWA Day Branch has had a busy year supporting community projects including, Salvation Army Fire Support, CareFlight, Kiamma Creek Landcare, Knee rugs for Goulburn Hospital, Care Bears for Crookwell Ambulance Service, Cancer Council, Crookwell Hospital bed replacement project, Crookwell Primary School MultiLit programme, education grants to St Marys, Crookwell Public, Binda & Laggan schools, View Haven and the Wellness Centre.
