The ceremony will commence at 5pm with Angus Taylor MP, and Mayor John Shaw of Upper Lachlan Shire Council officiating.
Volume four 'We Remember' CD, received an Australian Government Anzac Centenary grant and has been recorded by Stephen Lindsay, of Oceanic Records, Crookwell.
This CD has 25 tracks all pertaining to WWI, including local history on people, places and events. Everyone who hears this CD will learn something new about this time frame of 100 years ago between 1914 – 1919.
A few of items of interest are: The one-day armistice at Gallipoli by Christopher Lee, the Diary of Sister Ada Willis (of Cloverleigh, Crookwell) and an unexpected wartime encounter.
This community CD of 25 tracks is by performers of the Upper Lachlan Shire and includes six original music/song compositions and three original poems.
Angus Taylor MP reads the introduction on the CD and John Shaw's item is on the Walers of WWI.
Crookwell High School and Crookwell Public School have contributed music and poetry items.
This period in our history impacted upon every family in our area, those who enlisted, or were exempted for primary production/essential services - facing severe drought and labour shortages - or the family and friends who waited anxiously for their loved ones to return home.
And those who received the news of loss. All were affected during the Great War. We remember them.
