Funds to purchase the equipment has been raised by the Wellness Centres Clients Amenities Committee, Lackanooky Bay Fishing Club and CWA Day Branch of Crookwell.
“Everyone has been very dedicated to raising funds helping to make this venture possible,” said Centre coordinator Heather McDonald.
“Michael Picker delivered and put together all the equipment very professionally.
“He then came back to visit and show everyone how to use this modern high tech equipment.
“There was high enthusiasm amongst everyone, willing to hop on and have a go.
“This will help clients maintain and enhance strength and ability allowing them to remain in their homes much longer.
Community members are also encouraged to visit at any time to use the equipment.
It is available for able bodies or post surgery.
Using the equipment will shorten the length of time needed for Pre and post surgery.
They also offer a falls prevention program run in conjunction with the equipment.
The mission statement at the Wellness Centre says:
The Wellness Centre provides a setting for the promotion of a healthy state of body and mind.
This is achieved through planned and intentional efforts by the client and the Wellness Centre staff, in collaboration with partners in the community.
Any person in the community who wishes to use the centre can attend between 9.30am and 3pm to make the most of what is offered, or phone 4832 1300 to find out more.
You will find Heather, Debbie or Lorraine at the centre, Tuesday to Friday each week.
