Membership numbers increased quite considerably for 2014 and how pleasing was it to see so many new faces.
With three terms of packed solid activities behind them, term four caught the baton and continued with even more enjoyable mornings.
Halloween with some of the children dressed for the occasion saw a morning of witches, skeletons and the like, reflected in the flood and table decorations.
Remembrance Day was given the Aussie flag, Anzac biscuits treatment and a minute’s silence.
One last visit to the Crookwell Library for 2014 was as always a hit with the little ones with storytime and craft on the agenda.
Playgroup offer our sincere thanks to the library ladies for their warm welcome and for the time they spent with the children.
Other activities for term four included a morning with playdough, the children making some creative models. Christmas bonbons were made on Tuesday December 9, just in time for the children to take home and place on their trees.
On Saturday November 15 a street stall was conducted with much needed funds raised. A raffle of a tree of scratchies was won by Ally Horan from Landmark.
Ally no doubt had lots of fun scratching off each ticket.
Crookwell Playgroup were successful in gaining a $300 grant from the Upper Lachlan Foundation to enable a cover to be built for the sandpit and to replace all the connections on the sunshade which somehow had disappeared.
We thank the Upper Lachlan Foundation for their support and also the Men’s Shed for building the cover for the sandpit.
On Tuesday December 2 playgroup visited the Crown Theatre Café for their Christmas party, what fun they all had.
Santa paid a visit and handed out gifts supplied by the parents for each child. On leaving the children received a goodies bag to take home.
We thank Crown Theatre Café for their hospitality and for opening especially on the day for playgroup.
This month Crookwell Playgroup farewelled three of its older members, Bryce Foley, Stevie George and Taleah Okkonen who are off to big school next year. We hope they enjoyed their time at playgroup and go with fond memories of us.
Our annual general meeting was held recently with all positions declared vacant. The new committee for 2015 was then elected and are: Coordinator Belinda Foley, secretary Jan Woods and treasurer Leah Okkonen.
This year’s committee of Sharron Waters coordinator and Rowena Watson treasurer congratulate the new committee and wish them a very successful year in 2015.
Playgroup returns on Tuesday February 3, 2015 at the Uniting Church Hall from 10am to noon. New members are always welcome.
