"It is a great honour to be here opening this new cooking facility for the Crookwell Caravan Park. The Crookwell community is a warm and friendly community, and I will miss working with the people and with Council," said Minister Hodgkinson.
The new cooking facility was built in the Crookwell Caravan Park by Upper Lachlan Shire Council using grant funds from the NSW Government's Public Reserves Management Fund Program. Council were successful in applying for grant funding through the program, and received $70,706 from the State government, as well as contributing $10,000 toward building the new facility which will provide caravan park patrons with a modern, all weather cooking facility. It has been operational since November last year and has received positive reviews and compliments from caravan park patrons, with people extending their stay at the Crookwell Caravan Park. This in turn has helped the local businesses with visitors spending their money locally.
Council was honoured to have Katrina officially open the new facility.
"It is a great pleasure and honour for Council to have Katrina here today open this new facility, especially since it is her last official event as Member for Burrinjuck," said Mayor John Shaw.
"Katrina has worked hard for the Upper Lachlan Shire and supported Council's efforts to provide better services for the community during her time as Member for Burrinjuck. Her drive and dedication will be missed by all within the Burrinjuck electorate," said Mayor John Shaw.
