So we all woke up to a town without power on Saturday morning. We started our days as best we could, all the time wondering 'where had the energy gone?'.
Those of us who went to Lin Cooper Fields soon knew the answer. All the energy was being used by the kids playing soccer that morning!
Let's thank our sponsors starting with the Junior's Major Sponsor: I Just Fit Blinds and Awnings and Under 14's sponsor Spackman Motors. Also thanks to the Top Pub for sponsoring the men and the overall Seniors.

Green v Gold
This was a very close game that came down to which team was better placed when the opportunities arose. Gold's Billy Hynes was ready when Sophie Clements and Braith Stephenson brought the ball his way and this resulted in a pair of goals. Green were doing the same, resulting in good set ups from Kayla Merryfull and Matilda Rose leading to goals for Aaron Lloyd, Oscar Rose and Mikeely Gray. Game to Green!
Blue/Grey tie
I used to wear a blue/grey tie, just for a special occasions, anyway what happened here? Both teams played exceptionally well with Grey's Isaiah Druett, Emily Newman and Cameron Herd keeping a lid on Blue's attempts at the goal. Blue's notable efforts came from Liberty Cramp and Joshua Evans. It all came down to the Grey goal from Zanderlee Reeves and the Blue one from Tyson Allwright resulting in a draw.
Orange/Red tie
I never wore an orange/red tie, but I knew a bloke who did and he got abducted by aliens, or he may have moved to Lithgow (I forget which). This tie was brought to you by the Orange goals of Ryan Wong, Isabelle Medway and Max Price matched by the Red goals from Boyd Heidrich, Jack Page and Mason Kearney. That resulted in a draw, but I'm calling them ties this week because I can get fresh jokes out of that.

Red v Blue
This was a frustrating game for Blue, who couldn't keep Red out of their end despite valiant resistance from Emma McCormack and Rhys Sewalt. Red kept coming on strong with the work from Christian Bugeja and Bryony McCormack paving the way for a bunch of goals from Mitchell Lyons. This resulted in a decisive win for the Reds.
Maroon/Orange tie
Next up on the Crookwell tie rack, we have the Maroon goals of Noah Evans and Cody Tate being answered by the Orange goals of Courtney Stephenson, Lillian Skelly and Levi Woods. The outcome of all this was two teams locked in equal scores creating a rather fetching tie.
Gold/Green tie
Another tie, but this one is the most patriotic of all. This was a great game to watch with heaps of end to end stuff on display. Green put points on the board off the boots of Jacob Griffiths and Sam McGregor. All things being equal, the score was equal and I made a cup of tea with some equal.

Green v Grey
Golly, a game that didn't need in a tie! How did that happen? It happened because Grey had two goals scored by Shane McIlwain and Green had three goals scored by Charlie Cramp and Grace McCormack. Top work by Grey's Makayla Clements and Green's Jet Tate and Maxe' Tate. Game to Green.
Gold v Orange
Orange tried hard against a determined Gold, but the goal by Sianabel Anderson and the footwork by Joshua Churchill weren't quite enough. Gold's success was more frequent with a slew of goals from Tyler Smith and Charlie Colley. Both teams left the field knowing they'd given it their very best, but Gold were the more victorious of the two.
Red v Maroon
This was a match full of great action with spirited effort from Maroon's Billy Speer and Keeley Cunningham, but unfortunately this didn't translate into goal scoring. Red's run was more successful with the hard work of Florence Dark and Olivia Wong creating the circumstances for goals by Reed Kearney and Vincent Bill. The final score didn't reflect how close this game was and that Maroon came near to victory.

Blue v Green
This was an end to end power game with great goal protecting by Saxon Greenwood. Share Dumesic distinguished herself on the Blue side, as did Green's Sienna Charnock playing her first game ever. Green put in the work with Toby Charnock and Kade Fowler, but it was the lone goal by Finn McCormack that gave Blue the win.
Orange v Gold
This was an awesome match that ran evenly for much of the time. Gold brought it to Orange with a goal from Connor Potts and terrific support from Michael Foster and Ada Dunn. Orange fought back with great work from Charlie Clements and a pair of goals from Glynn McIlwain to put them in front and win the match.
