THE Annual Sportsman’s lunch has seen the likes of Sam Keckovich, Duncan Armstrong, Doug Walters and Bill Young making the trip to our small town’s RSL club to entertain, inspire and reminisce with a room full of local gentlemen and at the same time benefit important groups in our community.

This year the organisers have secured another notable Australian sportsman to grace the stage at the Crookwell RSL Club.
Kerry O’Keeffe is a former Australian Cricketer who played 24 Test Matches, 146 First Class Matches and 80 Matches for NSW. His professional career spanned from 1968 to 1981.
Kerry O'Keeffe's interest in sport has never waned. He is renowned for his hilarious commentating on ABC Grandstand, his regular appearance on the former ABC TV program “The Fat” and as a specialist tutor to aspiring young leg spinners at the AIS Cricket Academy in Adelaide and to the young NSW Emerging Blues.
Kerry has also outlined his passion for cricket in his book, “According to Skull” and two audio productions, ‘Unplugged’ and ‘Unstitched’.
Kerry O'Keeffe's wit, wisdom, larger than life personality and penchant for sport have made him one of Australia's favourite sporting personalities.
As a speaker Kerry is entertaining and motivational, an opportunity too good to miss.
The venue is booked for Friday August 14 at the Crookwell Services Club.
The lunch commences at 12 noon.
Now in its ninth year, the Sportsman’s lunch raises essential funds for the Upper Lachlan Foundation and the Crookwell Community Trust who distribute these funds back to the community in many different ways.
Over $65,000 has been distributed in the last eight years.
Pre-sold Tickets are $110 each and are available at RJ McCarthy and Co in Crookwell. Tickets include a two course dinner, drinks and afternoon entertainment.
These are anticipated to sell out fast - so get in quick. Tickets are limited;
over past years many have been turned away as they left ticket purchases too late.
Auctions of various items and memorabilia will follow the lunch held in conjunction with the fundraiser on the day.
A guaranteed good time will be had by all.
