And this year we are asking you to stand up and speak out about behaviours and attitudes in our community that could lead to family violence.

Research from peak prevention organisation Our Watch found more than a quarter of young people hold attitudes that put them at risk of perpetrating or tolerating violence against women.

Gender equality - and the modelling of good behaviour by parents, teachers and other key influencers - is believed to hold the key to helping change these attitudes.

As part of our End the Cycle campaign, and as part of White Ribbon Day this week, we want you to think about what changes you could make in your life and how you could influence those around you to make a difference.

Your messages will become part of a national “pledge wall” designed to inspire others to help end the cycle of family violence.

You can go one step further and encourage any group you’re associated with - a football team, mothers' groups, men's sheds - to take a photo illustrating your stand against family violence.
