The Laggan markets are on again this Saturday and this month the Crookwell Gazette has the spotlight on The Church @ Laggan. Make sure you save time on Saturday to pop out to Laggan to the markets. If it is wet they will still be in the Memorial Hall from 9am - 12noon. All your favourite stallholders will be there.
The Church @ Laggan
THIS beautiful historic church has been lovingly converted into luxury accommodation.
Set within the original stone church is a stunning contemporary interior which provides a fantastic luxurious, country get away.
The Church @ Laggan is located on an elevated block on the edge of the historic village of Laggan surrounded by the rolling hills of the southern highlands.
The church was built in 1876 from local stone and timber by the Presbyterian congregation surrounding Laggan.
The church was used until 1943.
It was then purchased by a local farmer and used as a shearing shed until the early 2000s.
The original Church building is solid local granite buttressed walls with pointed arched timber windows and original handmade double entry doors.
It sits on over an acre of lawn, with a courtyard of white cedars on the northern side, creating a shady haven for warmer days.
The elevated position gives the church beautiful views over the picturesque village of Laggan and the hills beyond.
The accommodation is within walking distance to the Laggan Pantry Restaurant, Laggan Mill Restaurant and the local Laggan Hotel.

Testimonial
The Church surpasses all expectations. Majestic surroundings, beautiful architectural features, and most importantly a homely, cosy vibe with all the trappings of modern country life. Chunky log burning stoves in the main living area and bathroom provide ample heat and a warmth of heart. Handy galley kitchen, cool post modern furnishings, and the secret TV nook are spot on, just perfect for keeping the kids at bay. Meanwhile enjoy serene walks across forgotten highlands, with sheep, cattle and even alpacas grazing the land. Forget about stopping at Goulburn for food. The selection of shops on Crookwell’s main drag will delight. Award winning sausage providores through to magnificent jams and mustard. A well stocked IGA, liquor stores, and most importantly in Winter... Fire starters! Least of all check out the amazing bistro at the Crookwell pub, great cafe style pub food served with love and care. The staff are just like all the locals in Crookwell, super friendly and nice, just a charming town. About 8 mins drive is Laggan and the Church with all of its grand history, beautiful surroundings and amazing living quarters. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much for the experience.
