The field was saturated which meant wet weather football was the call for the day. This style of rugby suited Crookwell better, as they won in a very tight contest 25 - 17.
The game started with both teams playing in an old fashioned arm wrestle, battling for possession and territory.
On more than one occasion, it was a poor pass or dropped ball that saw a try go begging.
Tries for the Dogs were scored by Paddy Carlon, Dion Aramoana, Angus Hedges and Tom Hawkins.
The Crookwell Dogs travel to Bungendore this weekend to take on the Mudchooks at 3pm. If you’re looking for something to do head over and cheer the boys on.
The week after sees the Cauliflower Club fundraiser here in Crookwell when the Dogs take on the Taralga Tigers. This is preceded by two Pups games as well as a Golden Oldies game - any old players are invited to contact Dave Page 0409 079 671 or Floyd Davies 0409 322 061 if they would like to get in on the action!
