Cr Shaw said his decision was made after careful consideration and consultation with his wife Suzi.
“It has been an honour and a privilege to serve my local community over the past 29 years,” Cr Shaw said.
“I have been fortunate to work as part of a team which has made great strides in improving the Shire’s facilities and amenities.
“My decision not to contest the next election was made with a heavy heart, but it will allow me to spend more quality time with my wonderful wife and family.
“I wish the incoming Councillors and new Mayor all the very best in working with Council staff to continue to kick goals for this wonderful Shire of ours.”
Cr Shaw was first elected to Gunning Shire Council in 1987 as his father had been before him.
