Brad’s mum, Emily Hayes, said her son was showing improvement every day.
At a community meeting held at Crookwell recently, it was decided to hold a monster raffle to be drawn close to Christmas, with proceeds from this raffle to be donated to the Bradley Hayes fund.
Prizes will consist of donated goods from many sources with the community encouraged to donate to the raffle.
Community groups will be encouraged to sell tickets.
This will be finalised at a follow up meeting at the Bowling club on Friday September 2 at 6.30pm.
Fundraising options will be discussed and may include ideas for wood raffles, 100 clubs, auctions, dinner/dances, lamb, wool and beef auctions. Many more ideas were put up for discussion.
The Crookwell Community Trust has set up a bank account at the local Crookwell Bendigo Bank for deposits from community groups and individuals who wish to help Bradley.
The BSB is 633000 and the account number is 158128595. Private donations are accepted at RJ McCarthy and Co in Crookwell.
The question was also raised: if Brad makes a recovery, what happens to the excess money in the fund?
The family have been given the option for the use of any unused funds.
Matt and Emily Hayes have indicated that if there are any excess funds, they will be returned to the Crookwell Community Trust.
Many community and sporting organisations attended the meeting and there has been an overwhelming response from the community to help.
The CCT is encouraging the community to spread the word about the upcoming monster raffle and get involved with selling tickets.
Small amounts add up to be big amounts.
The greatest due diligence will be taken with the fundraising by the CCT and it is best for the fundraising to be centralised by the trust.
There is also a central register that has been set up for news and updates.

The medical, accommodation and ongoing costs endured by the Hayes family will be hefty during the recovery period and the money raised so far is a great start.
There will be updates in the Crookwell Gazette on fundraising amounts and upcoming events.
The organisers have expressed their appreciation to the many local and surrounding organisations who have already donated so much.
