No one is alone. This is the encouraging message we heard on Sunday in the book of Jeremiah and in our Noah’s Ark Messy Church: we are all part of God’s ‘big picture’ for creation. Thank you to local families and friends from Goulburn’s Grace Community for helping to share in this fun time together.
Do you have any old photos or other memorabilia about the ‘church in the marketplace’, either from its Methodist days or more recently? On Sunday September 18, the Uniting Church in Crookwell is celebrating its 150th birthday with worship at 9 am followed by ‘High Tea’ in the church hall.
Everyone Is welcome to come along and help us celebrate! You can RSVP by email to gill.aynsley@activ8.net.au, by phoning 4832 1026 or put your name down on the list in the church. Any memorabilia can be given to Ian or Phyllis Laverty, Keith or Ros Robinson, or left in the church.
The Spinning and Knitting Group meets every Monday in the Kindergarten Room from 10-12. Don’t miss the Crookwell Playgroup every Tuesday from 10-12 during school term.
Enjoy a hot cuppa and home-baked treats at Afternoon Tea on Fridays from 2.30pm in the church hall. The church is also open every day for prayer and reflection.
For more information or pastoral support, contact Keith on 4832 1026.
St Barts news
We had a pot luck lunch in the hall last Sunday to farewell Rev'd Margaret Campbell as she moves to a church in Canberra. Sadly, this Sunday will be her last service at St Barts. We have been deeply blessed by her ministry, her joyful personality and the many ways she has demonstrated the love of Jesus in this community. We'll also miss the sight of Margaret walking her standard poodle Chaucer around town!
Our mission this month is Operation Christmas Child, bringing a box of gifts and hope to poor children around the world. You can make up a box of goodies, and/or simply donate items such as children's clothing, teddy bear, bangles, stickers, craft kits, exercise book, colouring pencils, sharpener, eraser, tennis ball, cars, skipping rope, marbles, wind-up torch, soap and soap dish/case and face washer. For more ideas, go to www.samaritanspurse.org.au.
Donations for the Anglicare Winter Pantry Appeal can still be dropped off inside the door of the church. Non-perishable, nutritious food, personal hygiene and kitchen/bathroom/laundry type supplies are all very welcome.
Remember, Movement & Music for babies and toddlers starts at 9.30 am every Friday in the church hall, and Sunday School is on every Sunday during term at 9.30 am. Both are times of fun and all will be warmly welcomed.
