The CWA of NSW continues to lobby Federal and State Governments to address this issue.
Crookwell CWA Day Branch has raised local issues of poor telecommunications and servicing throughout our Shire with our local government representatives over many months.
Our State and Federal representatives are aware of our frustration around limited or no mobile service in areas, poor or intermittent internet access and slow speeds.
We have realised some improvements with mobile service recently but with the NBN roll out, what should we expect in future?
On Friday, September 9, Crookwell CWA Day Branch will hold its annual Awareness Day event from 9.15am to noon and is seeking your support to attend so that we can be informed of what service the NBN may provide.
Member for Goulburn Pru Goward will be speaking to address the topics of connectivity in the local area.
Gerard Walsh, office manager for Member for Hume Angus Taylor, will also be a guest speaker.
Mr Walsh will be speaking about what the government is doing to improve connectivity in the Upper Lachlan.
He will also discuss NBN’s Skymuster satellite and fixed wireless services and ways to work with Government on addressing black spots.
You will hear how the State Government is addressing infrastructure investment, what NBN service is likely in our area given that most homes have land lines and the potential for economic development through technology. The impact of social media will also be covered.
This is an excellent opportunity for our community to find out the facts, advise and encourage our representatives of our need for improved connectivity and enjoy morning tea at the CWA Rooms.
The CWA is a quiet achiever. They are working on behalf of the community for great outcomes.
