From a small beginning, meals were supplied on a five-day service.
Twenty four volunteers were required each week.
Service over a five-week cycle requires 20 volunteers each cycle.
Today, Crookwell Meals on Wheels provide highly nutritional meals, prepared by staff at Crookwell Hospital, to 31 clients, averaging 18 to 20 meals a day.
Crookwell Meals on Wheels have about 100 volunteers and the committee is always looking for extra helpers.
“A larger subsidy would always be welcome from the Government,” said committee president Greg Seaman.
“We thank the generosity of the Crookwell Hospital, for without their support, Meals on Wheels in Crookwell would be in dire straits.”
