A warm day greeted the Crookwell ladies for the reserve grade decider against Moss Vale in Bowral. Having played in the previous two grand finals, Coach Boulton and his charges knew what to expect and did not appear to be over awed by the occasion.

Moss Vale came out strong and tested Crookwell as they had all year.
Crookwell weathered the onslaught and Annie Croker put Crookwell into the lead with a great goal. The ladies played some great team football to take the steam out of Moss Vale and a second goal courtesy of Ella Picker was the result.
Moss Vale looked a beaten team and their performance suffered as a result. Grace Smith scored a wonderful goal to put Crookwell up 3 – 0 at the break. The second half saw a rejuvenated Moss Vale carry the attack to a suddenly disjointed Crookwell outfit.
Liz O’Keefe in goal showed great courage diving at the feet of a Moss Vale attacker to no avail. The ball fell perfectly for Moss Vale and the score was 3 – 1.
The confidence of Moss Vale was now sky high and they continued to make life very difficult for a fading Crookwell side.
Suzie Brennan showed how far she has come this season displaying skill and controlled aggression throughout the game. Suzie had my vote as the best player on ground. Crookwell hung on to take the victory 3 – 1 from a fast finishing and valiant Moss Vale outfit.
Injuries to Ella Picker (suspected broken nose) and Lily Panne (head clash) were the only two low lights in a great win against quality opposition.
