This event is a 5km run, where you can run/jog/walk or stroll the course.
The Splash Me Fun Run is to be held on Saturday October 8 starting at the Crookwell Memorial Park at 11am and finishing back at the park, where runners will be blasted with colours
Crookwell Lions will be manning a barbecue at the park.
Registrations can be made on the day but you will need to arrive at least an hour before the race starts – so need to be there at 10am.
Entry fee is: $15 for 12 years and over, $10 for under 12 years, under 7 years free.
Participants must wear closed toe shoes and light colours preferred.
The run starts at the Park, then up Saleyards Road – into Hay Street, Prell Street, Pine Ave, Woodward Street, Reservoir Road, Harley Road, Goulburn Street, Park Street, and then Spring Street to the Park.
Shannon joined the Mentor Program which aims to increase student involvement in volunteering and community activities, helps to overcome barriers to taking part in their community, help develop life skills in teamwork, communication, leadership and decision making.
By organising a community event, with a mentor to guide them, students gain an insight into just what it takes to organise, consult, paperwork and funds. It is a very good learning curve.
