Her dream job from a very young age was to become an international air hostess with Qantas. She achieve her dream and travelled extensively.
Mrs Arnott married a fourth generation Arnott from the famous Arnotts Biscuits.
“People ask me all the time if I am related.”
They raised their two girls in Australia.
After her husband passed away, Mrs Arnott decided to immerse herself in volunteering at Pymble Ladies College where both her girls attended.
After experiencing the pleasures looking after the animals of the College farm, Mrs Arnott decided to look for a small farm away from Sydney.
She fell in love with the Crookwell area and purchased a small block in the Kialla area.
When she was volunteering at the college and with church groups, Mrs Arnott became involved with flower arranging.
“The ladies at the church encouraged me and showed me what to do.”
“I eventually took over all the flower arranging in the church.”
St Swithun’s Church in Pymble was a highly sort-after venue catering for weddings and larger corporate events.
“It was an incredible job which I loved.”
Mrs Arnott further educated herself on flower arranging and styling by visiting five-star venues and referenced the highest standard of arrangements in magazines and on the web.
The flowers, trends and colours were important to keep up-to-date with, as they change so frequent.
“What’s state-of-the-art in the marketplace is what I draw my inspirations from.”
Mrs Arnott then decided to go back to university and is currently studying a diploma in French language.
She has a graduate certificate from the Cordon Bleu in France for Gastronomy.
She has now resumed to complete her Masters in Gastronomic Tourism.
Workshops for flower arranging will be coming up prior to Christmas at the Library.
The Uniting Church was decorated by Sandy for the recent 150th anniversary and she has shown her skills at many CWA events.
Mrs Arnott will feature this weekend at the October ‘Flowers and Fitness Market’.
She also plans to run workshops at the library between now and Christmas with the focus on a floral workshop prior to the festive break.
