Over its four years, the event raised more than $50,000 for cancer patients and their carers in the Upper Lachlan Shire.
The charity provided much-needed support for many people in the shire.
In the past year alone, Crookwell Community Trust, who manage the monies raised from the WACy Walk, has given more than $30,000 back to the community.
“There were 64 walkers this year, who walked or cycled from Range Road along Kialla Road to Memorial Park in Crookwell,” Mrs Marshall said.
Kialla Road has been a favourite trek as it is relatively flat, although there is a ‘large’ hill near the end of the road towards Crookwell.
“These 64 people raised between them over $1500.”
She thanked those who had walked, cycled, donated, sponsored or volunteered their time for this charity.
A special thanks went to Gullen Range Wind Farm, who provided the water on the day, and also sponsored every walker $5 each.
- The winners of the voucher trees raffled for the WACy Walk were Suse Longley and Barbara Carter.
- The winner of the highest Individual fundraiser was Adrienne Carpenter of Collector (Adrienne won $100 fuel voucher from Spackman Motors)
- The winner of the highest team fundraiser was Pink Panther (Pink Panther won Golf Vouchers to the Crookwell Golf Club).
- Finally, the highest school team fundraiser was Bigga Public School, and they won a $450 voucher from Divalls.
“Thank you again to everyone who has supported Walk Away Cancer since 2011,” Mrs Marshall said.
