All available emergency services are doing their bit to protect the community and I urge anyone who may witness a suspicious fire or anyone acting suspiciously around a fire or attempting light one to please call us and let us know. No piece of information is too small or not important. “I had the pleasure of being involved in a ceremony at Bowral Police Station where one of the first on scene, then off duty Nurse Margaret Warby, was reissued with the Queen's Gallantry medal that was stolen from her house several years ago.
To have the medal reissued was a logistical nightmare between the UK and here, however several tenacious and dedicated police assisted Margaret having her well deserved medal returned. It was a great little ceremony with members of her family coming from far and wide to celebrate the occasion with her.
Sometimes police work is not just about locking up crooks, it’s also about stepping up and helping our the community where possible, and this was another fine example where our local police went above and beyond to help one of its own community members.
