Firstly, Dr Velu, for organising of blood cultures to identify the “bug" and the right IV treatment, thank you. To the professional, dedicated and caring nursing staff, thank you. Thank you to Dr Opie and the professor in Canberra who gave their time and assistance to Dr Velu.
To the kitchen staff, wardsmen, newspaper men: thank you. To the 'ambos’, local blood takers and the people in pathology at far away Westmead, thank you.
To the people of Crookwell and district, I say: support your local hospital, attend their fetes and other functions.
The hospital is an important employment institution which the town cannot do without. Our hospital is our front line defence. Don't be complacent and say "It will always be there”.
