Whole family takes the pledge for citizenship

The Lisonbees family are the Upper Lachlan Shire’s newest citizens.

American born Joel and Brittany took the Australian Citizenship Pledge at a ceremony held at the Council Chambers yesterday April 20.

Their children Chloe, Ada and Ezra will become Australian Citizens by descent.

The Lisonbee family moved to Australia in 2010 after Joel took up a role as a climatologist with the Bureau of Meteorology in Darwin.

They moved to Collector in June 2016 when Joel received a transfer to Canberra.

Mrs Lisonbee said they decided to become Australian citizens after “falling in love” with the country.

“It is exciting that we now have a second place to call home,” Mrs Lisonbee said.

Upper Lachlan Shire Council Mayor Brian McCormack OAM congratulated the Lisonbee family on becoming Australian citizens.
