The evening was perfect and the weather was favourable.
With the season finals being held up due to wet weather the players were keen to take the courts to finalise the season.
The A grade match was between Red Bulls, Matt Ryan and Belinda Radford and Braemars, Andrew Parsons and Machallie Mccormack.
These two teams dominated most of the season and it was fitting they play each other in the finals.
Braemars had an early lead in the first set 3-1 but Red Bulls fought back to take the first set 6-3. The second set was a closer game with points coming a lot harder.
Red Bulls won the second set 6-2.
The B grade final was another close tussle with Cool River’s father and daughter duo of Anthony and Charlotte Selmes defeating the 40-Luv pairing of Stephanie and Elise Croker.
The final scores were 6-2 6-4 6-4 to Cool River.
THURSDAY LADIES TENNIS
The Thursday Ladies Tennis also culminated recently with Bolong taking the title again this year from Twitters.
The ladies tennis has struggled for numbers this year as team nominations were down with players unavailable.
The Bolong team consisted of Leisa Kensit, Belinda Radford, Helen George., Laurel McGaw and Karen Logan.
The Twitters team players are Meg Jones, Jenny Hall, Maree Laverty, Jeanie Dooley, Laura Clements, Julie Whittaker and Sheryl Storrier.
A presentation luncheon was enjoyed at the Services Club to finalise the season.
SOCIAL TENNIS
Players interested in social tennis can join in on Tuesday evenings from 6pm at the courts whilst the weather stays nice and numbers remain.
- Thursday Twillights grand final will be played tonight and results will follow next week.
