Ashley Gilbert has hit the lead with a fine 42 points in the stableford competition sponsored by Meats a Treat.
This won Ashley A grade and the guzzlers mug with Dan Costello runner up on 38. B grade was won by visitor W Baldsing on 36 points via a countback over K D O’Brien.
The May Cup is very congested at the top with Ashley leading 3 or 4 players only 2 points behind, so it is anyone’s title at the moment.
This week is the third and final round, a single par event where you can win your monthly medal stroke round green fees paid for the year by Rodney and Guy McIntosh, and the May Cup will be decided.
The following week is the foursomes, where the championships will be played over 27 holes. For those who want to play in the normal competition (under foursomes format), they can play only 18 holes and prizes will be awarded over each set of 9.
