LEONBERGERS are a giant dog breed known for their loyalty and obedience. I recently met Brienne, a young female Leonberger, and her owner Karin Diric of pet care business Zoohause (0439 622 709). According to legend the dogs were bred to mimic the lion in the town crest of the German town, Leonberg. They were bred from Newfoundland, Saint Bernard and Great Pyrenees dogs. Brienne joined in the RSPCA’s Million Paws Walk last Sunday, May 21, in Goulburn.
MEMBERS of the Gunning Garden Club, after their May meeting last Sunday, planted a beautiful native plant in memory of former member Pauline Wicksteed, who loved natives and was most generous with her advice about them. The club chose Correa Pulchella Orange Glow. Check it out in the garden outside the Tony Foley Centre.
