Parvovirus causes an acute and very painful illness characterised by haemorrhagic diarrhoea and vomiting.
The virus is extremely hardy and can live in the soil for up to seven years and for many months on clothing, shoes and floors.
Don’t take risks with your pets and working dogs.
Parvovirus is easily preventable by vaccination.
Phone Crookwell Vet Hospital on 4832 1977 to make an appointment to vaccinate your dog.
Geriatric Pet Months
Every year during winter, Crookwell Veterinary Hospital celebrates senior pets.
Just like us, older pets often develop health problems such as arthritis, dental disease, cancer, diabetes, heart, kidney and thyroid disease, and incontinence.
Our annual Geriatric Months provide the opportunity to give your senior pet a well-deserved health check.
Book in any pet seven years or older during June and July for:
- a complementary consultation and health check;
- half price geriatric blood screening test; and
- entry into the draw to win veterinary services to the value of $100.
Regular health checks help ensure diseases common to advancing age are detected and treated, giving pets a better quality of life into old age.
It’s amazing the difference a dental treatment can make to the health of an old pet with loose, infected teeth and sore gums.
Old dogs don’t need to live a life of pain with arthritis, and your senior cat can be managed to live more comfortably with chronic kidney disease.
Phone Crookwell Vet Hospital on 4832 1977 to make an appointment from the start of June.
You can find out more about senior pet health on our website (crookwellvet.com.au) under Animal Care/dogs or cats.
