Adding to the team’s motivation on a blisteringly cold day were retaining their spot at the top of the ladder and the Taralga team nipping at their tail. It was a very physical encounter and both teams will be feeling the effects this week. Taralga was strong in attack, but unable to find a gap in Crookwell's defence, which was the key tactic on the day
First over the line was Gearin Price, with his years of experience showing. Dion Aramoana kicked the conversion. Aramoana followed through his kicking game by converting the second try of the game, which had been scored by Jack Worman. Worman scored from a pass from his younger brother Tom.
In the second half, a penalty kick secured the Dogs’ lead. The Tigers got over the line only once in the 80 minutes. The Dogs fought hard in the later part of the match to keep them out of their try line. A slippery pass again opened up opportunity for Jack and Tom Worman, assisted by Logan Boyd, to show off their skills and pace, again going the length of the field to score on full time.
In the end, the Taralga Tigers went down to the Crookwell Dogs 22-7. Thank you to everyone who travelled over in support.
