The rewards of well-behaved puppies and adult dogs are immeasurable, and classes are fun! Puppies retain the lessons they learn at this early age, but even older dogs can benefit from time in training.
Vaccinated dogs can participate from eight weeks of age, and must have a collar and lead. Vet staff can always pick the puppies that have graduated: they run in with wagging tails, confident and comfortable with procedures because they’re familiar with the smells and personalities of a vet clinic. (And it could, of course, be the liver treats they come to expect as a reward for good behaviour.)
Lessons include: communicating effectively; sit, drop, come, stay; safe play and social games; food and eating; toilet training tips; and strategies for anxieties such as thunderstorms.
Please call CVH to register for Randal Sullings’ next puppy class (four x 1 hour evenings lessons over four weeks) on 4832 1977.
