Health and wellbeing is not just an absence of disease or ill health.
Health and wellbeing is very much based in how people live their lives and the attitudes they bring to big and small events.
Some people are “glass half full” or “glass half empty”. Depending on which one you are it will colour your perceptions of day-to-day living.
I am not talking about thinking that everything is rosy. We know that a little bit of pessimism allows us to avoid problems and situations that may not be helpful to us.
What I am talking about is trying to maintain good physical and mental health with a positive attitude, despite what life may throw at us.
Some people are naturally able to keep an even keel but most of us need to be shown the tools and how to use them to get the best advantage.
Mindfulness meditation contains most of the tools we need to make a difference. But it needs practice, practice is what makes meditation work.
The act of meditation is enough to be able to change our perceptions, mood, mental state and even our physical body for the better, even five minutes a day works.
Choose to be active in your health and wellbeing and learn new skills.
Meditation and mindfulness classes are held every week in Crookwell.
