Students and community came together to plant around fifty trees on the day.
Return on Saturday afternoon 2pm – 5pm September 9, for a threatened species day workshop and have your photo taken with the trees you planted eight years ago, plus plant another one.
Enjoy tree planting, kids activities, a seed ball making demonstration and presentations and information on local threatened species.
Again, young and old are invited to Eel Hole stock reserve situated five kilometres from Taralga on the Laggan/Crookwell Road for a community afternoon of tree planting, light refreshments and presentations on local threatened species.
Fit Farmers Day
In conjunction with RUOK day and Upper Lachlan Shire Council, Upper Lachlan Landcare is hosting a fit farmers extravaganza!
This day will be a one stop shop for delving into physical, financial and mental health. Resources galore will be at your fingertips in the form of 'pop-up' displays from a range of organisations offering support and further information.
Presentations will be made by Richard Moffit from Next Rural, discussing farm and business succession. It includes the transition process and how to get started, the importance of this process for all generations, typical scenarios and traps.
Stephen Carroll asks 'Mental Illness or Mental Health'? Stephen is a psychotherapist, credentialed mental health nurse and counsellor, with many years of practical experience living and working with regional and rural communities.
Ginny Stevens from Active Farmers will discuss good physical health and the overlap with overall health. "Why is it that we ensure our cars and machinery are fueled and serviced properly, yet we run ourselves below optimum levels?
Like a car that is not well fueled and serviced, we don't run efficiently and run the risk of breaking down.”
The workshop will be held Friday, September 15 at the Crookwell Memorial Hall costing $5 payable at the door, or free for Landcare members (membership available on the day).
AGM
The meeting will be held on Thursday, September 7 at 6pm at the Old Coach Stables Restaurant, Cullerin Rd, Cullerin.
