Shepherd competed for Australia at the 2017 FAI European Parachuting Championships and World Cup in Saarlouis Germany on August 8-12.
The 27-year-old is the youngest member of the two Australian teams and was selected as the flag bearer at the official ceremony. These team members come together from all over Australia. Training some days involved 15 jumps.
The competition was cancelled due to bad weather halfway through, at round five. The team was well positioned and did a great job coming 15th out of 35 teams. He stated that they still managed to do very well despite diving through storm clouds and getting belted by rain at 250km/hr.
Shepherd obtained his solo skydiving ticket only four years ago through Sydney Skydivers at Wilton.
His whole family jumped with him to celebrate on his birthday in 2014, except mum who supplied the picnic basket.
He received his instructors ticket through Adrenalin Skydive Goulburn, and is presently working at Skydive Wollongong where he also loves to do night jumps.
Skydive photography along with his Gopro camera is one of his many passions. He is also an avid rock climber and slackliner which is similar to tightrope walking!
Issac is the son of George and Viv Shepherd of Grabben Gullen.
