The schools travelled to Crookwell to view the Meerkat Production of the CBCA short listed book "Gary" on Monday, July 24, followed by the performance of "Island Dreaming" on the same day at the Crookwell High School. They enjoyed the day very much.
The beginning of Term 3 was very busy with combined rehearsals for the GCOPS Concert in Goulburn in August. Our students participated in a dance sequence with Laggan and Binda Public Schools as well as the combined schools choir. This was the first time our school has participated in the concert and the children really enjoyed the experience.
Gymnastics has been the sport for this term funded by the Sporting Schools Grant. A gymnastics coach has been travelling out from Goulburn each Monday afternoon to work with the students and teach them many new skills.
Four of our students, Makayla Clements, Lucy Marshall, Jacob Hogan and Poppy McGuiness joined with students from Laggan, Binda and Taralga to participate in the Touch Football Gala Day in Goulburn. Congratulations on their team work and effort on the day.
Our Book Fair, Book Parade and Jump Rope For Heart was very successful this year with the students dressed in some amazing costumes for the Parade. They raised $514.00 for the Heart Foundation with sponsorships for Jump Rope For Heart. A great effort for a little school.
Also in August we had teacher Ben Wells conduct a Robotics, Games & Gadgets Workshop for a day sponsored by the Bigga Community Technology Centre. The students and teachers enjoyed the day so much another day has been booked for November.
Next week our primary students will be attending the Small Schools Camp at Point Wolstoncroft and our infants will be travelling to Goulburn for Spacexpo on Wednesday.
