Apparently storage units are permitted to be built in residential areas but, according to information in the Business Papers, they are not allowed to be built in light industrial areas.
After attending a number of council meetings over the past twelve months and listening to councillors discussing long-term planning for the Shire, allowing storage units to be built in residential areas seems to be short sighted to say the least.
More thought should go into preserving residential areas and planning designated industrial areas for potential future growth.
